Sybase Data Base Administrator

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Very good Knowledge of Sybase Data Base Architecture
• Health Check Database Monitoring as well as Sybase application
• Experience on SQL & stored procedures
• Good knowledge of business processes
• Monitoring of SQL queries running on the DataBase
• Data Base optimization tasks
• Very experienced on Sybase troubleshooting (locks,etc)
• Sybase Data Base monitoring & administration
• Ability to collaborate with business users to define systems requirements and to proactively detect room for software improvement

 

Main requirements:

• BSc/MSc in computer science, engineering, any other relevant degree
• More than 5 years’ of demonstrated hands-on experience on Sybase Data Base environment.
• Knowledge of telco business processes will be considered a significant asset
• Previous track of work in an environment with a complex systems architecture will also be appreciated
• Expertise on SQL and SQL optimization techniques
• Solid Knowledge of the Linux operating system (daemons, resources, directory structures etc) and the the SQLITE embedded database (CLI usage and via other programming languages e.g Python)
• Thorough understanding of how indices work (clustered, non clustered unique etc) for SQL optimization
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Dynamic and target oriented
